Capital Region International Airport and Sun Country Airlines Announce New Daily Round-Trip Flights from Lansing to D.C.

LANSING – Sun Country Airlines announced today an enhanced schedule for its Lansing/Washington, D.C., route that will allow travelers to make same-day round-trips between Lansing’s Capital Region International Airport (LAN) and Washington Reagan National Airport (DCA).

Robert F. Selig, president and CEO of the Capital Region Airport Authority, said the upgraded schedule is a valuable addition for travelers from Lansing – such as businesspeople, government officials and Michigan State University employees – who fly regularly to the nation’s capital.

“We are thrilled to be able to give Lansing travelers this opportunity,” he said. “We have worked hard in collaboration with the local business community, government leaders and Sun Country Airlines to make same-day, round-trip service between Lansing and Washington, D.C., available.”

Beginning August 22, Sun Country flights will depart Capital Region International Airport each weekday at 9:30 a.m. and arrive at Reagan National Airport in Washington at 10:55 a.m. On Sundays, Sun Country flights will depart the Lansing airport at 7:30 p.m. and arrive in Washington at 8:55 p.m.

On the return leg, flights will depart Washington each weekday at 10 p.m. and arrive in Lansing at 11:30 p.m. The Sunday flight from Reagan National Airport will leave at 11 a.m. and arrive at 12:30 p.m.

Sun Country introduced its Lansing/Washington Reagan National Airport route in April 2011.

Sun Country will also continue nonstop service between Lansing and Minneapolis.
